I am currently working as a Project Manager in Mitie's Engineering Services.
I work with a range of Clients ranging from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Police Scotland, Lloyds Bank to the Scottish Government working on both minor works and large-scale Capital projects.
It is within my remit to deliver the various projects ranging from all aspects of construction from fabric, fit-out, M&E and external works from feasibility stage through to completion.
Often receiving works from an initial brief, I often appoint and manage Design teams including specialist Consultants, if required in developing the works for the Clients.
As a Project Manager I ensure works are executed in accordance with the CDM Regulations, safely and to the highest standards. Working with various contractors and sub-contractors cost management and change control procedures are a key element to my daily role ensuring value for money to all my Clients and the works are delivered on Programme.
I feel from my previous experience, commercially, technically and contractually, I am very competent Project Manager and I feel I provide an efficient service to my Clients, delivering projects on programme and on budget.

It was within my current remit to manage the Repair & Maintenance and Planned works aspect of the Contract within the South and West of Scotland. This involved closely managing Sub-Contractors as well as directly employed labour to carry out reactive repairs to the sewage water network. I was responsible for managing all aspects of the Contract on both an Operational and Commercial level.
I ensured all Health & Safety aspects of the works were achieved; closely monitoring the programme of reactive works and closely monitoring all costs and variations where applicable within the Contract.

As a Site Manager it was my responsibility to ensure the works are carried out and that they adhered to the current CDM 2015 regulations. I was responsible for delivering weekly and monthly progress reports to clients, reporting work progress against the current programme.
Working as a Site Manager, a pro-active approach as well as good communication was imperative to ensure daily work tasks were carried out efficiently and safely. My strong communication skills and organisation skills were key when facing daily challenges faced on site.
