job
Production Manufacturing Engineer
Stanmore Implants Worldwide.
Supported improvement projects in Work Instruction remediation, CAPA's (Corrective Action Preventative Action) and Machine Maintenance; to update Stanmore systems to meet the latest FDA and MHRA requirements and production
output with increased product quality. Notable projects and responsibilities were:
Tooling and Consumable Consignment Project: Project Lead
I led a project to reduce the number of tooling and consumable suppliers and provide consignment for the vast number of off-the-shelf and custom tools used in production.
A supplier managed tooling and consumable vending machine was successfully implemented allowing a reduction in suppliers, reduced lead times and costs and allowed for better forecasting.
Custom Implant Design Transfer: Manufacturing Lead
Established and documented a Design Transfer Process for Custom Orthopaedic Implants within Stanmore using their MRP
system (Syspro) and worked first-hand on the Custom Design Approval Process to British Drawing Standards and International Medical Industry Regulations.
Device Master Record Remediation: Project Lead
Remediated the Device Master Records (DMR) for Stanmore products in their Modular Endoprosthetic Tumour System
(METS). This involved ensuring the Stanmore DMR's were to the latest standard and met the requirements of FDA
regulation 21 CFR 820.181 while working with a multi-departmental team and other remediation project teams. The
documentation was audited by MHRA and the FDA with a favourable mention in the MHRA final audit report.

Manufacturing Engineer
Meggitt Polymers and Composites.
Meggitt Integration: On Site Manufacturing Lead for Integration
Worked with a select team of representatives from across the business to collect data and establish KPI's and other
tracking systems to improve our management of daily operations and set up a quality clinic to manage non-conformities to the new Meggitt standards.
Pyrometry Specification: Author and Manufacturing SME
As Author and Manufacturing SME, I worked with Operations, Maintenance and Quality to draft a Pyrometry Specification for the Stevenage site. This involved getting in touch with the International Standards agencies and our customer's
specification experts to define an all-encompassing specification that would satisfy all our customers requirements as well as allow the company to work toward official recognition by organisations such as NADCAP, in the future.
I also established calibration and testing with a sub-contractor to facilitate NADCAP certification. The final draft of the
specification was handed to Quality for implementation on my departure.
RTI Tool Cleaning: Project Lead
Investigated process changes and improvements on the grounds of Health and Safety, within the Stevenage Site.
This involved working with the H&S Team and Operations Team Leads to establish facts on current processes that pose a
risk to the Operators and surrounding personnel in the rest of the factory.
A temporary safe working method was established, alternative technology was investigated, test plans and testing were
carried out on potential solutions and costing was submitted to finance for approval.
Radome Repair: Manufacturing Support
Completing Survey Assessments and costings for customers wishing to have their products repaired by Meggitt. Working with Quality, NDT and Microwave Engineering, I was able to assess and compare repairs with the original build for
replacement parts, condition of supply, repair costing and replacement hardware costing, then upload a repair process and costing to the local MRP system.

Airbus A350 Galley Production: Shop Floor Support
Supported Production in a problem solving and information capturing role. Relaying back to Engineering for design
amendments and product improvement for future shipsets. I was also involved with ensuring that design changes
required through Customer feedback or Testing, were fully implemented into production and the relative WIP builds.
Airbus A350 Galley Production: Change Control Board Manufacturing SME
Working with multiple departments to ensure that any changes conformed to the B/E Aerospace and Airbus (AIB) required
specifications, as well as ensuring that the changes made have full traceability, testing and justification.
I worked face to face with the customer and assisted them with their queries, in turn establishing a strong and positive
working relationship with the customer representatives. This built bridges and confidence for the customer in our efforts to improve our capabilities and overcome the increasing challenges we faced on the program.
