I created and developed a non stigmatising food redistribution project in some of the most highly deprived areas in the country. providing access to food destined for landfill to 600 families a week through 18 pop up surplus food stalls. the model adopts an environmental approach, which increases social acceptability, the shops are strategically placed in areas of high need to address socio economic barriers to health.

Food Power Project Coordinator
Middlesbrough Environment City.
Food Power is a national project which endeavours to reduce poverty. Creating a multidisciplinary
team of professionals, from a wide range of services and sectors, to develop innovative solutions in
high-pressure circumstances. A core part of my role is to successfully obtain capital in order to provide town wide interventions. I have successfully obtained third sector funding on several
occasions for intervention programs. Subsequently it was requested that I be part of the bid writing
team for both the 2018 £1m and 2019 £2m Department for Education holiday hunger programs
lead by the Local authority. I am frequently invited to locations across the UK to Present, sharing
learning and best practice. After presenting to Middlesbrough councils Children and Young people's
learning and scrutiny panel, recommendations were made to council executives.
● Efficient communication with the local authority, private sector and educational
colleagues along with third sector providers, including delivery of training sessions.
● Mapping service levels, using both MyMaps and Gis software. Highlighting geographical
areas of concern or over saturation points.
● Utilising captured data to present findings and review current practices in line with local
and national guidelines and policy
● Implementing projects and delivering planned interventions.
