The key objective was the provision of technical support to projects, tenders and sales areas of the business.
Main duties included:
- Provision of technical guidance to the process / technology groups for projects and tenders.
- Taking a leading role in the identification and specification of the process required to meet the contractual specification in preparation of proposals and in project execution.
- Maintain and update know-how in key processes and emerging technologies through R&D activities.
- Participation in hazard studies and design reviews performed both internally and externally..
- Mentoring and training of junior process engineers.
- Delivery of technical presentations to potential clients to demonstrate the depth of the company expertise.

Major projects where my involvement was across all phases of development (tender to project execution) included:
➢ BP's Mad Dog2 140,000 BPD sea water injection treatment located in the Gulf of Mexico. This was a LoSalTM application where the required specific water injection salinity was provided through a combination of two membrane separation technologies: Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) and Sulphate Removal (SRP).
➢ Woodside's Greater Enfield 80,000 BPD sea water injection treatment located offshore NorthWest Australia. The treatment system include the first use of an SRP in Australia.

Main project roles undertaken included:
- Engineering Process Manager for the Kindasa 25,500 m3/day SWRO Desalination Plant in Jeddah port (KSA)- This was the first commercial full scale use of Membrane Ultrafiltration (UF) system upstream of a SWRO: the UF had a filtrate capacity of 60,000 m3/day. I was accountable for all aspects of the project engineering. This involved coordinating the work and taking full responsibility for the technical output of a multi-disciplined team of engineers, interface internally with the Project Manager and externally with the Client (Kindasa Water Services) and his Consultant (Dar El Teqnia). On completion of the project, I was responsible for clearing any punch list items and minor defects in accordance with the Contract requirements.
- Lead Process Engineer for the world's largest offshore Sulphate Removal Plant- 430,000 BPD for the BP's Plutonio FPSO in Block 18 offshore Angola.
- Lead Process Engineer for a 90,000 BPD offshore Sulphate Removal Plant for FPSO Brasil.
- Lead Process Engineer for a 135,000 BPD offshore Sulphate Removal Plant- for the South Arne platform - Danish Sector.

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the main duties included:
- Conduct design, engineering, specification, and documentation of various water pretreatment and polishing systems (using filtration, chemical injection and reverse osmosis equipment).
- Process design including the preparation of PIDs with the proper configuration and controls as required for each specific application.
- Take projects from conceptual stage through to completion including design control stages, liaison with customers, suppliers and sub-contractors. These water treatment projects involved applying chemical treatment, filtration technology, reverse osmosis technology for sea and brackish water, as well as designing plants for the production of high purity water for demanding applications such as power generation and pharmaceuticals.

• The design, commissioning and start-up of Georgia Gulf 2600 USGPM RO plant (14,200 m3/day) - Louisiana, USA.
• The design, commissioning and start-up of Piramysa seawater double pass 400 USGPM RO plant (2,200 m3/day)-Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
