Most recently working as a principal software engineer working within a micro-service infrastructure hosted in Azure, where I am the technical lead for 3 teams. As a principal software engineer, I have been working on a project written using .NET micro-services (a mixture of .NET Core and .NET Framework) hosted in Azure with an Angular front end. I was the technical lead involved in creating our first .NET Core service and have also been involved in migrating our existing .NET Framework services to .NET Core. In our latest service I introduced Railway Oriented Programming as a software development pattern to improve error handling in our APIs. My day to day involves enabling feature teams by running design sessions, mentoring senior developers, coding PoCs and doing feature development. I run a .NET guild meeting each sprint to bring all the .NET developers together where we discuss anything from an interesting bit of code, to issues developers may have faced in the recent sprint, we recently introduced a design pattern section into this meeting to give developers a chance to demonstrate a design pattern to the group.
