• Consistently undertook a high standard of quality of work for a variety of protected species surveys and written technical reports within prompt timescales to clients for species including white-clawed crayfish, otter, water vole, badger, great crested newt (GCN), bats, and reptiles.
• Confidently organised and lead otter, water vole and badger surveys within an area proposed for a housing development at Croston.
• Assisted on hedgerow surveys, Phase 1 Habitat surveys, National Vegetation Classification (NVC) surveys and Preliminary Ecological Assessment (PEA) surveys and written corresponding reports.
• Committed to carrying out monthly water quality sampling surveys on a Ribbed Inflatable Boat (RIB) within a large estuary and from surrounding sites during the removal of construction platforms of the Mersey Gateway Bridge and performed ecological clerk of works (ECoW) site checks for the project's working site areas.
• Dedicated to assisting a master student in their research project on Atlantic salmon migration by organising to routinely collect the data with the implementation of a camera trapping method of a fish pass at a large weir.
• Explored radio-tracking surveying to determine the location of bat roosts and bat activity whilst utilising thermal imagery to confirm presence within trees and buildings.
• Carried out badger bait marking of a site to identify the sett status of a badger clan within a particular area to identify territories for the creation of a new sett as a mitigation measure within the proposed development area of a site.
• Assisted on wetland bird surveys at the Menai Bridge in Wales.
• Ensured health and safety protocols were always enforced on projects by writing task hazard assessments for undertaking surveys and providing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) which included the action required to reduce the risk from a possible hazard whilst completing a task.
