I'm offering
I have been educated to PhD level, with Masters, medical and science degrees from several UK top 20 universities, including Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester. Through my own postgraduate education, I have been an educational supervisor, and lectured science, medical and nursing students on a range of topics, both in the university and hospital environment. I have been published in both scientific and medical literature, and medical textbooks.
I am a native English speaker. I have also studied abroad with fluency in several other languages, which adds to my knowledge and abilities to work and communicate in English.
I am an experienced blogger and have contributed to the output of several institutions including Genomics England, the PHG Foundation, RSM and The Conversation.
I believe that my CV will demonstrate that I have extensive experience in creating literature and educational projects for a wide demographic. This includes copy-writing and medical writing/editing. I have participated in the conversion of complex medical and scientific literature into a palatable and understandable form for adults and children (e.g. patient information leaflets for children and parents entering clinical trials, medical information leaflets). I have also ‘translated’ clinical trials and ethics applications of both Research Ethics Committees and Clinical Trials Groups, both in the US and the UK, that require ‘plain-english’ summaries without medical/scientific jargon, for lay members.
I also have experience of tutoring science to children at primary school (grammar school entrance exams), secondary school (GCSE and A-level) level, undergraduates and postgraduate students.
Finally, having worked on the development of both paper and online educational material for children with cancer, nurses, medical students and the general public through a range of institutions
