My main responsibility at the BBC was managing the weekly national newsletter. I selected and create content based on the week's television and radios schedules. The newsletter deployed in national versions to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, each with their own dynamically targeted sections. The aim of the newsletter is to increase traffic to the BBC iPlayer service and the BBC websites. Since joining, I helped the team to achieve growth of our main database and seen increased email click-through rates on a weekly basis. I wrote copy for the newsletter and created any custom images on demand. My role also required me to create data segments for each email version using Exacttarget's Audience Manager tool. I had also been appointed as the trouble-shooting specialist, which meant I managed any glitches or rendering issues across all the emails the team deployed.
I provided statistics in a weekly presentation and talked through the email's performance with the email and social media team. We used these meetings to exchange new information and align our promotional strategies.
