job
Paralegal (Commercial Litigation)
Bond Dickinson LLP.
In this role I worked as part of a team of 12 paralegals in the commercial disputes department. I worked under the supervision of two senior solicitors and one partner. Bond Dickinson are a National, full service law firm with several
office's across the UK. The office based in Plymouth comprises approximately 400 staff. I was assigned to one
particular client, the biggest energy supplier in the UK. I dealt with commercial debt recovery. I developed strong
client relationships and gained a thorough understanding of the commercial disputes process. The claimant matters
were mostly pre-issue, I undertook investigations and analyzed liability and the potential of recovery for our client. I
had direct contact with clients and liaised with them on a regular basis.
My duties included but were not limited to, conducting land/asset searches, background checks and constructing pre-
litigated reports. I issued claims, statutory demands, dealt with responses, drafted settlement agreements and also collated court documents when necessary. I became very self sufficient and typed all of my own correspondence on a
daily basis.
