● The Trainline
House of Fraser
House of Fraser is a major retailer in UK. Since 2010 Capgemini has been handling the development & support for House of Fraser's websites and applications. Capgemini was responsible for providing data center services, applications support and development, service desk, desktop support and the third-party services.
Team Matrix: Development, Support, SADM, Supply Chain, Multichannel, Oracle and the SACS Team.
● Processing Orders into Data Ware House:
House of Fraser needed a new feature to extract customer order details from point of sale (POS) till payment. These details were stocked in database, but since huge number of transactions are carried out on daily basis, business decided to manage their data in data warehouse. The orders from multichannel platform were categorized as Till, Web and wedding list orders. For different delivery methods like collect from store and home delivery the orders were stored in warehouse.
● Bond Site Application:
The main purpose of this feature was report generation and delivering them to the bond customers. The bond customers mainly dealt with financial shares of the business. They were interested in monthly, quarterly, half year and annual report generation. Since there were different bond customers involved in various parts of business the reports were developed according to requirement of each customer and were delivered to them in PDF formats.
Responsibilities:
● Involved in daily Scrum with various teams like .Net dev, BizTalk team, Supply Chain, Support and Testing team.
● Communicate with product owner and clients for the requirement.
● Engaged in Sprint planning & sprint review meetings.
● Define wireframes & use stories from requirements along with acceptance criteria.
● Developed and maintained all operational and technical documents.
● Involved in portal & front-end development, writing complex stored procedures using SQL and SSRS report generations.
● Planned and developed feasibility study, requirements and risk analysis for store procedures system and developed local, temporary, and extended stored procedures for authentication, send mail, input validation, and business rule enforcement.
TheTrainline
The Trainline has over millions registered users and accounts for development & support of many portals which include Virgin Trains, Arriva, Stagecoach, Cross Country and First group portals for major Train operating companies (TOCs) in the UK. The Trainline is a UK based service provider, operating in the rail industry (www.thetrainline.com). For numerous co-operate companies, educational bodies they provide discounts by booking tickets in advance.
Responsibilities:
● Communicate with business stakeholder, SMEs to understand business problems and opportunities in the context of requirement and recommend solutions.
● Responsible for translating requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria and test plans.
● Involved in daily Scrum with a development team and testing team.
● Coordinate with a development team by conducting sprint planning meetings and retrospective meetings.
● Engaged in migration of portals from DotNetNuke (DNN) to MVC.
● Involved in web portal development and enhancement on UI part of websites using CSS, JavaScript and wrote complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
● Used prototypes to demonstrate and verify the system.
● Maintained documents for requirement traceability matrix, change request and implemented procedures for testing changes.
