Sound Engineer
Somethin' Else.
Somethin' Else is a production company with a difference. Working across all forms of production from graphic design, video production and Radio. I was part of a small team of sound engineers and video editors in the post production team.
• Recording and delivering: Working across a wide range of projects for Sky Arts the BBC and Channel 4 as dialogue editor and dubbing mixer. Working in Stereo, 5.1 and Binaural audio.
• Sound Design and Foley: Working with the internal Drama department to record, design and find background audio for radio dramas for the BBC. This includes Location recording, sourcing audio from the internet and other sound libraries and mixing the audio to help develop the story throughout the drama. Ten Pieces 2 for BBC - Creative sound design for the creative animations of Ten Pieces. A show designed to encourage children to listen to classical music. Consisted of ten 5 minute animations and ten classical performances.
• Studio Maintenance: Testing equipment before and after loans to producers, testing studio equipment regularly making sure anything that can be fixed is fixed and anything that cannot be fixed is replace.
• Software: Sadie 5 and 6, Pro Tools 11, Cubase 8, Avid (very limited)
• Team work: Working with all members of the postproduction team from video to stills making sure making sure that we can perform our duties to the best of our abilities. We work as a very tight nit team and all bring ideas to the table. Training an junior who recently joined the team to work on internal productions for Radio and TV work as well as training in SADiE and Protools.

Unique Facilities operates within Unique Broadcasting Company (UBC Media). I managed the in-house facilities and commercial recording studio for external clients.
• Recording and delivering: On a day to day basis I would record single voices and interviews. I also record round table discussions weekly and acoustic/cut down music sessions for broadcast. Another part of my role was mixing and editing shows for the production department, these could be music documentaries for Radio 1/1xtra or current affairs programs for Radio 4. Record, produce and deliver 4 entertainment news bulletins a day for commercial radio around the UK.
• Sound Design: Working with the internal Drama department to record, design and find background audio for radio dramas for the BBC. This includes Location recording, foley, sourcing audio from the internet and other sound libraries and mixing the audio to help develop the story throughout the drama.
• Video Editing: Using Premiere Pro to edit videos for external clients.
• External recordings: advising producers on equipment and managing inventory of said equipment.
• Client management: Working with internal production department mixing and mastering programs produced for BBC radio channels. Working with external clients to schedule, record and deliver sessions according to project specifications.
• Client management: Working with high profile radio and music artists, from Dizzee Rascal to Clive Anderson, guests in the studio from radio and music, including Amelia Foxe and Colin MacFarlane.
