The Astor Foundation.
The Astor Foundation are a major Jewish donor in New Zealand. They had financially supported the translation of Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl into Te Reo Maori, and I supported them with PR and earned media liaison for the launch at Te Papa Museum in Wellington. They also engaged me to run the media liaison and logistics of a one day event demonstrating the support given to the Muslim community of Christchurch by the global Jewish community after the March 15th attacks. We invited various media to tour the two affected mosques and meet some of the survivors, and to visit Christchurch's only synagogue which had just been reopened after the 2011 earthquake. The event culminated in a speech by the city mayor detailing how the new fund would be used to support March 15th victims.

MDNZ Awareness Month.

A short contract with Macular Degeneration New Zealand, a charity with a focus on education around age-related macular degeneration, in both the optics business and among the general public. This digital forward campaign was proposed after a major sponsor pulled out in December 2018, as it allowed for good national coverage on a small budget. We used a mix of social media advertising and earned print and digital media, centring around eight new case studies showing different experiences of macular degeneration. The campaign ran during the month of May 2019 and was highly successful, engaging a large number of people on a budget of just a few hundred dollars.

#AreWeThereYet campaign lead, IHC
Tomorrow's Schools.
New Zealand
In response to the Tomorrow's Schools government consultation, which was due to close in April 2019, I proposed and was commissioned to complete a case study heavy digital campaign allowing the families of students with SEND to voice their opinions in a public forum. This campaign engaged both the SEND and wider school community and came with the #AreWeThereYet which allowed people to easy engage and respond on social media. Those responses were collected by the IHC and presented to the consultation board as a complete document. This campaign allowed us to engage an under represented community in a process that was vital to them, in a way that was easy and timely, and also raised awareness of both the consultation and the issues SEND families face within education.

job
Marketing, projects and events director
Holocaust Centre.
NZ
I was brought on board to head up the project Anne Frank; Let me be myself, a travelling exhibition on loan from Amsterdam. My role included marketing the exhibition to both venues and the general public, creating a communications strategy including website design, newsletter, social media and earned media, creating a paid advertising strategy, liaising with all venues, booking logistics and liaising with the education officer regarding schools' engagement. I also organised two launch events, a national launch at the War Memorial Museum, Auckland, one of the largest and most prestigious museums in New Zealand, and a smaller event for MPs and diplomats at the Dominion Museum in the capital, Wellington. I was given a modest budget to work with, and was answerable to both the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand, who had underwritten the exhibition, and the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, who owned the exhibition.

freelance
Freelance marketing, communication and brand director
NGO FSM.
NZ
Initially a 6-month contract to design an internal and external communications system for this important regional charity, the contract morphed into a more strategic brand management and marketing role. I was able to lead the NGO through a soft rebrand from FSM: Family Start Manukau to FSM: Family Success Matters - a name the suited the wider portfolio of services they offer a larger number of communities after 10 years in operation. I managed the creative, logistic, budget and marcomms of the change, and restructured the way teams communicated internally as a result of this positive reimagining of the organisation. I headed up a digital communication programme which involved website redesign, case study accumulation, digital newsletter, social media and earned media, to engage both the communities served by FSM, and businesses that support their work.

A short contract babysitting this digital title while it was in transition from external to internal management, and undergoing a print redesign. Toast is a premium contract marketing title owned by Liquorland, a New Zealand chain of off licenses. This B2C title is about engaging the reader in what is trendy in the alcoholic drinks scene, and then getting them in store to purchase. It had over 40,000 subscribers at the time. This was a creative content role with some photography and photo editing required.
