Originally started as part of the commissioning team. After commissioning was completed I was asked to remain with a newly created Optimisation team as mechanical lead to optimise the output of the newly commissioned equipment.
Key responsibilities
• Responsible for identifying key areas that would benefit from modifications and contacting OEMs to generate Engineered solutions.
• On recurring faults conducting root cause analysis investigations and completing reports on my findings.
• Maintaining a close relationship with contractors, suppliers and operations
• Attending daily production meetings with operations, process and maintenance managers
• I was instrumental in the transition period of processing 250 tons to 750 tons of waste per day
Key achievements/projects
• I advised, contacted OEMs, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers and Mechanical and Electrical contractors on a by-pass line for the RDF bunker to ensure that the plant would continue to sort waste in the event of the ACF plant being off line. There by saving the company from financial penalties and loss of revenue. I was the lead Engineer on this and achieved the desired out come which has benefitted the Company financially every time it has been put on by-pass.

• I introduced several belt conveyor modifications to reduce blockages which were costing the company down time and missing daily expected tonnage processed. This I achieved by adding chevron belts. increasing or decreasing the speed of the conveyors and adjusting the angle of the conveyors.

Installation of Highly Mechanised Weapons Handling system on Queen Elizabeth and the Prince of Wales aircraft carriers. In charge of a team of 45, Mechanical, Electrical and piping Engineers.
Key responsibilities
• Three years based in Govan ship yard. Senior Supervisor with a multi trade team of twelve. Installing guide rails in lift shafts and mole rails. Connecting pipework on waste water treatment plants and Electrical installations from JBs to equipment
• Three years based in Rosyth. Senior Supervisor along with two Electrical supervisors and two Mechanical supervisors with a multi trade team of 45. Continuing installation of the HMWHS including installing the moles, sliding racks, mechanical and electrical stops and sensors. All ships lifts and associated motors, gear boxes, pulleys, ropes, hydraulic support arms. Completion of waste water treatment plants.
• Ensuring all work is carried out to technical drawings and high-lighting and acting on any issues found. Adhering to health and safety guide lines and ensuring all work safely.

• Several design issues where found during Installation. I was in constant contact with our designers in Leicester, advising and adding to changes required. Contacting engineering manufacturers with issues found and several times I had to send equipment back to them that was out of our spec.
