Key Attributes Gained from Experience
Capacity to triage a problem, prioritise tasking and settle case project plan
Ability to absorb significant amounts of data. Preparation of the complex immigration fraud
case required a review of 90,000 pages of material
Calm appearance whilst working under pressure. Trial advocacy commonly requires the lawyer to review significant data, in real time, analyse it, and then relate the outcome in relevant
advice to a client, cross examination of a hostile witness and/ or submissions to a court or
tribunal.
Focused attention to detail, allied with meticulous planning produces an outcome that is
designed to leave the witness with no alternative if they are to retain credibility, other than to follow the examiners line of questioning with the responses desired
Keen listener, who listens to the various parties and stakeholders to the case so that with the case plan always in mind, there is scope for improvisation and amendment, as the case develops
Cases in which the above skills have been deployed include
In Equity Release Home Visit - where there is concern as to capacity +/or undue influence
In Criminal Defence and Prosecution - murder, boiler room fraud, complex immigration
fraud, conspiracy to produce cannabis (involving over a 100 cannabis farms), indecent exposure
