I'm offering
A business growth expert having been instrumental in helping companies such as Appliances Online, Young Henrys, Vasco Pay (Novatti Group) and Home Clearance (Winning Group) find traction, growth & profitability. In my 16 years of experience I have developed a sound understanding of technology, data, marketing, and software; being able to connect these all together to provide a world-class experience for the end customer. I have worked with both fragile startups and large established organizations, learning there is no problem too big or complex that I cannot solve.

Head Of Home Clearance
Home Clearance Pty Ltd.
Australia
On the 1st of July 2016 I made the move over to Home Clearance business
(also apart of the Winning Group) in a similar position to my role at Appliances
Online. The big difference was that Home Clearance was a startup, and I
would be moving from overseeing a team of 18 people to a team of one - being
myself.
If you've ever worked in a startup you'll know what it's like, problem after
problem, wearing multiple hats, trying to figure out the most important things to work on when everything seems important. Really though, that's how I like it.
It's how it was at Appliances Online in the early days, at my time with Ollio and my time with Young Henrys.
At the time of this update (July 2019), we have:
♦ Averaged an NPS (Net Promoter Score) of 83.8 for FY19 (up from 72.8 in FY18)
♦ Been ranked as the #1 Appliance Retailer on review site
ProductReview.com.au
♦ Become a profitable business, solving a multi-million dollar problem for the Winning Group
♦ In FY19 we cleaned, photographed, and sold 13,524 products to customers

Chief Marketing Officer
Appliances Online.
Australia
I had just shut down my digital agency Ziller, and was planning to move back to the U.S. when an opportunity came up at the Winning Group. Initially I was
there to help grow one of the group's other businesses Big Brown Box but before not too long was moved over to the team at Appliances Online, my old
stomping ground, to help run the marketing and ecommerce division.
Since I had left the business it had grown, grown quite a lot actually, and I
was now in charge of a team of 18 people, with 6 direct reports. As Chief of Marketing I was responsible for digital marketing, brand strategy, promotions,
supplier funded marketing and website user interface and user experience. It
was a challenging role and one that I am very proud of, having improved the return on our overall marketing spend, while also helping to reduce website
friction points and improving overall conversion to sale.
The proof in the pudding for the hard work that not just myself, but the entire
Appliances Online team put in over those years, was the winning of 4 x awards
at the 2016 ORIAS (Online Retail Industry Awards). The awards included:
♦ Best Pure-Play Online Retailer
♦ Industry Recognition
♦ Online Retailer of the Year
♦ Hall of Fame

2011 - 2015
job
Co-Founder, Growth Hacker
Young Henrys.
It was late 2010 when I first met Ian Atkins at a fortnightly networking group in Surry Hills. Ian was discussing plans for this microbrewery he wanted to build,
Young Henrys. At that point, Young Henrys was nothing more then a vision and a blueprint for the first brewery.
Fast forward about a year, and I was an official team member of the Young
Henrys brand, coming on to assist from a marketing and technology
perspective. My first job was to build the Young Henrys website, which I begun
work on with the help of my own agency, but it was at that time I also helped
spearhead the brand, marketing and communicants strategy (special thanks to Ravi Prasad).
Having a website and marketing strategy to work off, my attention was drawn
to another area of the business. We needed an ERP, but given we were in such a niche industry and had such specific requirements, nothing off the shelf
seemed to be the right fit. We needed something that would allow us to hold
stock levels for our beer ingredients, take customer orders, record sales data,
store beer recipes while also provide our delivery guys with a way to track and have deliveries signed for. I planned, executed and delivered the project
successfully within about 7 months from that point, which went straight into
production allowing the business to concentrate on what we did best, make
amazing beer.
All good things come to an end though, 4 years after starting I made the decision to exit the business that I helped grow, knowing all too well that it was an end to free beer, many laughs and that constant smell of hops.

Founder, Director
Ziller.
Surry Hills
Although I was enjoying my time at Appliances Online and in a very good
position with a fast growing company, I had a burning desire to start my own
business. Wanting to have some work coming in before leaving my secure
job, I started working nights and weekends, gaining experience and building a
small client base.
In May 2008, I took on my business 'Ziller' full time, moving into an office in Redfern. Within the first 8 weeks I had made my first hire, and within a few
years we had over 15 full time employees (a special thanks to Leo Alvarez,
Eva Lau, Mark Kemp, Juan Zapata, Josh Doolan, Oscar Diaz, and Roald
Braathen) working out of then a much bigger office located in Surry Hills.
I am still so proud of the work our team was able to produce over the 6 years
we were in business. We delivered a custom built social networking platform
for Hitachi that helped customers of their Starboard product get support and
connect with other users. We re-launched Videopro's main website with
ecommerce functionally (with also managing to double organic search traffic almost instantly). And without doubt the biggest challenge of them all was the development of the JoeButton.com website, which allowed to users to custom
design clothing on the fly and buy it.
Going into this business I had no experience in management, I didn't know
how to read a balance sheet or really even run a company for that matter. I
made a lot of mistakes but it was in making those mistakes that I was able to learn so much, something I will be forever grateful for.
