Senior SAP Analyst
Peel Ports Group.
As Senior SAP Analyst, I am responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day SAP support activities which include the following:
• Coordinating and interacting with key business users, project stakeholders and functional consultants for gathering functional requirements and design of security architecture, naming convention and processes
• Providing timely 3rd line support to personnel on SAP issues; analysing and resolving faults
• Ensuring Service/Incident Management system, knowledge base and supporting documentation is updated and accurate
• Working with SAP third parties to resolve software bugs where applicable
• Performing initial testing of incident/problem fixes, change request, enhancements, and new functionality
• Proactively engaging with the Solution Leads/Design Authority to ensure the integrity, future design and change management of the solution
• Providing customer engagement with responding to customer incidents, requirements, problem resolution and process modelling
• Assisting in training activities and guidance to the business
During my time as Senior SAP Analyst, I was gradually introduced in to the area of SAP System security. At the time, Peel Ports Group were experiencing a number of delays and issues with roles and authorisations whereby changes to roles that were delivered by our SAP partner were heavily timebound and expensive to implement with each formally requested change costing around £1000 and taking 6 weeks to implement.
Peel Ports Group has taken the management of roles and authorisations in-house so all role related changes and I have been heavily involved in security and role administration, leading to almost no external role changes requests saving Peel Ports time and money. During this time, I am responsible for:
• Designing, developing and maintaining Fiori Catalogs, Groups and Tiles adhering to Peel Ports' UX best practice framework
• Designing, developing and maintaining single, master and derived roles ensuring key Peel Ports' identified SOD risks were avoided
• Troubleshooting authorisation errors in accordance to Early Watch Reports making sure internal audits were accurate and completed on time
• Proactively analysing for and troubleshooting end users authorisation errors with rapid resolution to avoid and delays that may impact business service levels
